A new facility for training and education at Ontario Hydro’s 200 Acre, Conference and Development Centre. Program includes offices, training rooms, a conference centre, and a café. Earth integrated, the building uses much less energy than equivalent structures. Featuring ground source heating and cooling with high-efficiency heat pumps, low energy and motion-censor lighting, deep eaves and insulation, and low-E argon glazing. A single cladding material, cedar shingles, creates an impression of simplicity and naturalness. (Featured on the cover of Canadian Architect)
