A major renovation and adaptive reuse of a 35,000SF building with a mezzanine for the Printing, Graphics and other departments for the City of Toronto. The City of Toronto’s changing needs necessitated the consolidation of all of their printing services, which had previously been distributed all over the city. The project required the almost-total reconstruction of the building, which included a new roof, mechanical systems, interior glazing and interior structural work. It also required the entire building to be redesigned for Universal Accessibility. JJA acted as prime consultant and provided comprehensive Architectural and Interior Design consulting, involving feasibility studies of numerous envelope and interior renovation options. Designed to Toronto Green Development Standards.
