JULIAN JACOBS, OAA, RAIC
Mr. Jacobs, a Governor General Award recipient, founded Julian Jacobs Architects after arriving in Toronto from his hometown of Montreal. He spent five years as a Design Architect on significant architectural and urban design projects in Eastern Canada. Mr. Jacobs, an advocate for a collaborative design approach, and for architectural excellence, has established the firm as an important Canadian innovator, winning virtually all invited design competitions, being honored with numerous industry awards, and being published in North America, Europe and Asia. Mr. Jacobs takes the Lead Design Architect role on all major projects, bringing expertise in well thought out, sustainable, and innovative design; he contributes in navigating the approval process.
Alfredo Roca, Senior Architect, Associate, OAA, RAIC
Alfredo has extensive experience as a Designer and Project Manager on numerous projects. Prior to joining Julian Jacobs Architects, he worked in the United States as a Designer and Project Manager on a variety of building types. Mr. Roca’s approach to architecture combines sensitivity with the surrounding environment coupled with an imaginative and pragmatic attitude towards building design. His extensive knowledge of CAD technologies, Codes and Zoning, combined with extensive experience leading project teams, has allowed him to actively contribute to all aspects of design, ranging from 3-D modeling to Construction Documents, Graphic Design, and Construction Management. Alfredo has worked with Julian Jacobs Architects since 2002.
Gail Weininger, Senior Interior Designer, Partner
Gail joined Julian Jacobs Architects, setting up the Interior Design Division, helping create a full service A/ID firm, ensuring seamless coordination of Interior Design with Architecture. Gail acts as Senior Designer of all interior design projects, acting as main client liaison and lead designer, and contributing to the design of many award-winning buildings and environments.
Dan Hall, Senior Architect, Associate, OAA, RAIC
Dan has over 35 years of experience working in the Building Industry in North American and Asian regions, with Architectural, Engineering and Construction firms. At Julian Jacobs Architects, Dan is a Senior Project Manager, Director of Construction Documents and Building Technology. His expertise covers a wide range, with particular expertise in construction drawings and specifications review, drawing development, detailing and site administration. Dan has been with Julian Jacobs Architects since 2010.
Todd Poirier, Senior Architect, Associate, OAA, LEED AP
Todd has designed and built many prominent large-scale residential and institutional buildings in Toronto and Montreal over the past two decades. Mr. Poirier’s design skill and construction expertise allows him to follow through on a project from start to finish, maintaining a high standard in quality throughout the process. Mr. Poirier’s sizeable experience designing retirement communities provides considerable insight into the many forms senior housing can take, always with an eye towards the comfort and experience of the resident. Mr. Poirier has led the development of many notable high-rise and mid-rise condominium buildings and has exceptional acumen in the design, technical and regulatory facets of complex projects.
